Toiora — our ability to lead healthy lifestyles
Toiora is where we source our health from, where we draw our knowledge of wellbeing from. It is the connection between what we 'do' and how those behaviours and choices impact our wellbeing. Toiora is whānau, whakapapa and hauora all intertwined.
Ways to connect to this whetū
- Find a person or some people in your class or workspace who support your learning. They might be someone you can study with or just someone who is there for a chat when you need it.
- Make an effort to kick a habit that is not positively impacting your life. Whether it's only for one day a week or it's for good, every effort is meaningful!
- Prioritise your wellbeing, even when you’re stressed and busy. Whether it's having karakia before a hui, listening to good music or a podcast or taking a short walk when you get home, seize the moments to do things that make each day a little easier and have a positive impact on your wellbeing.
“Living well is about doing the simple things like drinking a lot of water, eating regularly, connecting with friends or with groups, talking through any concerns, and making time for things that aren’t study–related.”
