Te Pūkenga subsidiaries work together to create Super Career Fairs

August 4, 2021 | 2 min read

This new initiative aims to help learners and their whānau, employers and Te Pūkenga network connect and interact virtually through a series of discipline-based online events.

“These career fairs demonstrate the collaborative nature of our network and how technology can enable learners to connect with potential employers to help them succeed in their chosen career,” Te Pūkenga Deputy Chief Executive Leaner Journey and Experience Tania Winslade says.

“The inclusion of a Diversity Fair, for learners to connect with employers who celebrate difference and have inclusive working cultures, is fantastic to see.

“While Te Pūkenga was not involved in the establishment of the Super Fairs, we’re thrilled to see so many from across the network coming together to connect with learners and employers,” she says.

“Learners and employers can connect across a range of industries, including construction, health and creative industries. It’s about exploring options and building relationships,” Te Pūkenga Deputy Chief Executive Employer Journey and Experience Warwick Quinn says.

“Moving from a learning environment to a working environment can feel like a big step – but talking with employers can help learners choose a vocation that’s right for them and make it a smoother transition,” he said.

  • The planned fairs are:
  • Engineering careers – 10 August
  • Construction careers – 17 August
  • Business and consulting careers – 24 August
  • Computing and technology careers – 31 August
  • Health careers – 7 September
  • Diversity careers – 14 September
  • Hospitality and tourism careers – 21 September
  • Creative industries careers – 19 October
  • Primary industries – 26 October

Each fair is co-hosted by multiple subsidiaries of Te Pūkenga and delivered to students via individual subsidiary Career Directories .

The fairs are free for all participants – learners, graduates, and industry and run between August and October.
