So many people are facing financial struggles just now and this is one of the most common issues affecting learners.

Here learners share some of the simple and creative things they are doing to save or generate a bit of money. While these actions might seem small in isolation, over time, they can really add up.

Melissa: Oh, being a broke student

Thea: Ah… I am still there!

Connor: Bringing food to campus has helped me not go and buy sandwiches from the local cafe.

Melissa: Never turn down free if it's a free meal. Awesome.

Phil: I reckon if you can find a side hustle, doesn't matter what it is, but I study fashion design, so I thought, oh yeah, I'll make some tie dyes. It's extra coin.

Thea: Try to sell some of the things that you don't use or I know some friends of mine who are doing tutoring services.

Connor: I find biking to campus helps.

Carmina: Showing up before 7:00 AM to ensure that I get a free car park.

Thea: Take advantage of the resources available in Te Pūkenga.

Melissa: And if someone wants to help, let them.
